Chapter 11: Geometry of 2D shapes

11.1 Introduction

A two-dimensional shape is a flat plane shape that has two dimensions: length and breadth (or width). Examples of two-dimensional shapes include squares, rectangles, triangles, kites, parallelograms, trapeziums, and many more. It is easy to find examples of two-dimensional shapes in the real world.
